We were in a huge ice storm that was pretty damaging to the midwest. When I woke up and looked out the window, it truly was one the most beautiful things I had ever seen. There wasn't one thing that didn't have ice on it, including all the trees that fell and broke the power lines. Unfortunately I live in the county that got hit the worst in Kansas. We lost power for a week. Thank goodness for family. My Great Aunt Geri and Uncle Ted took us in and are the two greatest people I know. They were the best, even though my kids were running wild with cabin fever. After the terrible ice storm, that next weekend we got ten inches a snow and also our power back. Thank you for all who were praying for power, we sooo needed it. Not the best couple of weeks, but we are fortunate to be in our house, while others are still without power.
I can't beileve it is that time again!

Day After Thanksgiving
Everyone flew in thanksgiving day and since it takes two hours to get to the airport, we decided to have thanksgiving friday. It was a full weekend, but nice to have everyone around. It has been a long time since everyone has been around for my birthday, so thanks for coming. We don't need to talk about how old I am!!!!
Great Wolf Lodge
We spent our thanksgiving days off at the Great Wolf Lodge. It has an indoor water park, mini golf and arcade. We did it all and of course had a blast. They have an arcade which I had to pry my two Shanes out of. But most of the time we spent our time at the water park. They had the coolest water slides, starting inside, wrapping outside and then back in. It was 84 degrees inside, so it was really cool going down the water slide as it snowed around us. This is definitely a must do, by all.

More Halloween Pix
My first halloween pictures were taken at the zoo event before halloween. I am finally getting the rest of our halloween pictures on. We had Alyssa be a spider again since it was a warmer costume then her giraffe. It was a whopping 28 degrees so the kids were a tad cold. But who doesn't have fun getting candy. Shane was a little tired, but Alyssa was a trooper. In Shane's defense he was a little under the weather. Shane has been having trouble with his asthma since we have been here. They say he is allergic to Kansas, I say, who isn't!!!

The Zoo Spooktacular
If you look really close to the wallaby's stomach, you can see a tail sticking out. That was all we got to see of her baby.
The zoo had trick or treating event for the kids, which was a great idea. There were stations of candy all over the zoo. They had a pirate theme going, so Shane got to walk the plank into a big box of shredded paper. The giraffe was being very difficult when it came to taking pictures. At the very end she gave me one good one. Since Alyssa was the only giraffe at the zoo, once she left everyone else missed out.

Shane's First Fieldtrip
Shane's first fieldtrip was of course, to the pumpkin patch. I think they all loved the bus ride the best, but who wouldn't. It had rained quite a bit before the trip so it was pretty muddy. The tractor took us to the pumpkin patch and had to go through a Huge puddle, well much bigger than a puddle. One kid thought he saw an alligator, so they spent their hayride looking for that alligator. Shane's teacher passed out their pumpkins, they were all so very proud. Then back on the bus, which was an easy task since everyone just wanted to be back on the bus.
