O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
We went to a local tree farm to cut down our own tree this year. This was our first time getting a tree that way and the kids were really excited. Shane really wanted to help cut down that tree. He learned very fast that it wasn't as easy as it looked. He got a lot of help from Dad, but together they got that tree cut down. Thank goodness we picked a warmer day because once the sun went down it was pretty cold. We just beat the negative temperatures that followed a few days after that. We will definitely have to cut our own tree again, good fun for the whole family.

Halloween
Our pumpkins finally got carved, but we lost two to rotting. I was secretly happy I didn't have to carve mine. We did a lot of things for Halloween. The weekend before we went to the Childrens Museum and enjoyed their hayride and all other fun activities. We went to a Halloween party and the kids got to go trick or treating twice. The first time was just once around our cul du sac, so we promised them they could go again until they were tired. Thank goodness tired comes sooner than later. Alyssa was a Barbie Cheerleader and Shane was Anikan.
Pumpkin Time
We went to the pumpkin patch and the kids picked the best of the best. With all the freezes the some of the pumpkins didn't make it. Alyssa found a caterpillar, she is my don't hurt any bug or any animal. I think I know what she is going to be when she grows up. She has already informed us, her wish is for a real dog. I think she would smother it to death with love!

Picking Apples
We got to take a tractor ride out to the apple trees. Alyssa could not keep still, she kept playing musical chairs on a moving tractor. She was making me extremely nervous. We got to pick Jonathan apples and Red Delicious, which of course were delicious. We did have a 20 pound minimum which turned out to be 26 pounds. If it were up to the kids we would have left with 50 pounds. They just wanted to keep on picking. It was a beautiful day, even more beautiful after a very gloomy week.
